Cybersecurity 2.0: What Can Boards Do Besides Lose Sleep?

Classroom
February 16, 2017
Summit, NJ

Overview

Over the past year, cyber attacks on businesses and government agencies of all sizes have not abated.  Headlines appear daily, with news about hacking and data breaches by bad actors intending to cause economic harm, financial loss, and reputational damage.

New Jersey's Chief Technology Officer, Dave Weinstein will share developments and observations of what Dave and his team are doing to strengthen our state institutions, and will emphasize how cybersecurity is a critical board oversight responsibility.  He will be joined by fellow panelists to address:

  • How cyber security affects board directors personally.
  • Where some companies fall short in their cyber protection strategies.
  • Sharing good news and best practices on policies & standards and ideas from judicial opinions.
  • Changes in the regulatory environment regarding cyber event reporting.
  • Cyber as a component of M&A, where deal value may be significantly impacted by revelations of cyber breaches during the process.
Cybersecurity is an enterprise-wide risk management issue that affects all levels of an organization's operating activities.  It's not just an IT issue.
